According to the latest rankings of Scimago Institutions Ranking System in 2017, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad stands at the 490th rank in the world, experiencing an 82 rank promotion compared to 2016. Ferdowsi University has achieved the 19th rank in the Middle East (14 rank promotion) and the 5th rank in Iran (2 rank promotion) among the universities functioning under the supervision of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Currently, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad is the 3rd top comprehensive university in Iran. It is noteworthy that FUM has experienced the highest promotion among other top Iranian universities.
