The opening ceremony of the 1st International Green University Conference was held on 6 February at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Green university has now turned into an international criterion for assessing universities worldwide. In fact, it is a score determined based on GreenMetric grading system. This system considers 6 key criteria including Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation and Education. The has been first launched by Universitas Indonesia in 2010 in order to present a comprehensive overview of the status quo and policies related to environmental issues and sustainable development in universities worldwide.
