Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

Prof. Mohammad Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), attended a meeting on scientific cooperation between Iran and France in Paris at the invitation of the President of University of Sorbonne Nouvelle, where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature of Farsi and French run by Universities of FUM and University of Sorbonne Nouvelle in France.

During the talks between the President of FUM, who was accompanied by Prof. Farsian, and President of the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle, both parties undertook to establish a Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature (French-Persian)

Students admitted to this joint program (Co-tutelle) should take half of their courses and research at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle under the supervision of the professors of that university and the other half will be at FUM. At the end of the program, a defense session will be held in Mashhad or Paris, with a judging board comprised of Iranian-French professors, and the alumni will receive a degree from both universities.
