Indonesian professors and researchers Visit Ferdowsi University of Mashhad ( Archive )






At the invitation of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, a delegation of professors and researchers from Indonesian universities visited Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM). They had a meeting with Prof. Ahmad Reza Bahrami, Vice President for Research and Technology of FUM, and Dr. Raeisian, Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, on January 26, 2020.


During this visit, Prof. Bahrami pointed to the scientific and technological development of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the post-revolutionary period. He mentioned the effective role of FUM in this development and progress, especially in the fields of medical science, biotechnology, genetics, and nanotechnology. In addition, he emphasized the broad areas of theoretical development and applied development in the humanities. The diverse and multifaceted areas of academic-scientific cooperation with Indonesia were also highlighted, especially given the strategic importance of deepening intercultural relations among the countries of the Muslim world.


He pointed to the remarkable growth of FUM in the global ranking systems and the field of research and technology of university preparedness for cooperation in these fields.


Dr. Raeisian welcomed the delegation and introduced the disciplines and departments, and highlighted the most important international activities and memorandums of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies. Then Dr. Mohammad Javad Enayati Rad, Head of Islamic Studies Department, Dr. Abbas Javareshkian, Head of Department of Islamic Philosophy, and Dr. Mahdi Hasanzadeh from Department of Religion and Comparative Mysticism presented brief information about their training courses.


In the end, the ways of cooperation between the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Sciences and the universities of Indonesia were examined.
