Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

The opening ceremony of the Second Advanced Technology Development Center at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad which is located in the Faculty of Engineering, was held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 with the virtual presence of Prof. Mansour Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and physical presence of Prof. Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Ms. Kokab Mousavi, Deputy of Management Development and Resources of Khorasan Razavi Governorate, Prof. Ansari, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Prof. Bahrami, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology, and Dr. Malekzadeh, Director of Technology Development and Transfer. This ceremony was held simultaneously with the opening ceremony of several selected exploitable projects of universities, educational, research and technology centers of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on the occasion of Government Week.

While welcoming the officials of Khorasan Razavi Governorate and offering condolences on the days of mourning for the martyrdom of Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein and his companions, Prof. Kafi commemorated the arrival of Government Week and the memory of the martyrs Raja'i and Bahonar.

In his speech, the President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad referred to the presence of the Minister of Science in the first technology center of the university in the past and considered the establishment of that center a good experience for the university. This center, which is located in the Faculty of Engineering, is originally Center No. 3, but because it was put into operation earlier, we are witnessing the opening of this center.

Regarding the mission of technology centers, Prof. Kafi said: "New technology centers have three main missions, which are to attract and promote the ideas and innovative designs of professors and students and to expose them to the view and purchase of companies and various industries." The second mission is to establish cooperation networks and establish relationships with industry owners and the university in a close environment. Prof. Kafi pointed out that the university should always be entered to communicate with society and industry, but Ferdowsi University of Mashhad showed that industry can be brought to the university by creating a two-way road. The third mission is to establish laboratories in these centers that can meet the needs of the industry.

Prof. Kafi continued that Ferdowsi University of Mashhad has been able to maintain its connection with industry and technology during this Corona period and has been very active and advanced in the field of new technologies.

Then, Prof. Gholami, while praising Ferdowsi University of Mashhad for its efforts in communicating with industry and society, considered this university as a leader in this field.

Following the announcement of Prof. Gholami, the center was inaugurated by Dr. Kafi and Ms. Mousavi and they visited different parts of the center.
