Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

After about five years of continuous efforts of experts and university officials, to make fundamental educational changes and use the latest information and knowledge of the world in the field of gemology and industrial minerals in the country and based on specialized training by international standards, a graduate program of applied gemology and industrial minerals is developed for the first time in the country at Faculty of Science, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

This new field is a fundamental move towards the creation of third-generation and fourth-generation universities. Due to the high added value of industrial minerals, by adopting the correct methods of scientific, technical, and applied education for students, it is considered as one of the unique specialties.

Today, the precious and semi-precious gemstone and jewelry industries in the world are one of the most profitable businesses in the world with tens to hundreds of billions of dollars in turnover. The processing of each of the industrial minerals and minerals creates tens and hundreds of times the added value and very high employment and puts Iran on the path of industrial countries with advanced technologies.
