The Director of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Paid a Visit to Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

The Director of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and some faculty members at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) had a meeting at FUM on Saturday, 14th October 2017. At the beginning of this meeting, the audience introduced themselves and DAAD members presented a brief introduction of their roles and positions in this organization. Dr. Frens Stoeckel, Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Tehran Information Centre said: Iran has the highest level of scientific researchers in the region, which is why we are so interested in Iranian applications.


In the next part of this meeting, Dr. Azra Ghandeharion had a short presentation about Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. She went through different departments and some statistics about the university, such as the number of local and international students, the number of faculties, etc. Dr. Abedin Vahedian Mazloum, head of the Scientific and International Relations Office at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, was the next part at this meeting. He gave a presentation about the current cooperation between Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and German universities. He mentioned some mutual projects which have been previously done by these institutes and also some information about potential works in the future.


In the last part of the meeting, Dr. Christian Hülshörster, Director of the Scholarship Programs Southern Hemisphere, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), talked about DAAD organization and their plans in Iran. He reiterated that DAAD can cover different programs such as conferences programs, M.Sc. and PhD. Programs as well as some workshops. He mentioned that Iranian scientists and students can have visiting trips to Germany in order to share their research field with German scientific institutes.


At the end of this meeting, the audience asked their questions about DAAD programs and some other related topics.
