The International Bureau of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) was inaugurated on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, with the participation of the International Managers and Director General of the Presidential Institution. Dr. Bagheri, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, and Professor Mohammad Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Mr. Qasemzadeh, Director General of Mashhad Airport, attended the International Bureau of the FUM.
Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Head of International Academic Relations of FUM, mentioned several goals of opening the office including direct communication with Iranian professionals abroad to share their knowledge and experience, introducing the university to foreign travelers, attracting international professors, attracting investors and scholars. He thanked the collaboration of the International Student Affairs Office of FUM for preparing this office.
Prof. Kafi described internationalization as one of the core strategies of FUM and described the opening of this office as an important step in the university's international relations with the community. The President of FUM noted the need to provide more facilities to international students and professors and said these facilities are now will start at the airport. Prof. Kafi introduced FUM as one of the honors of Mashhad which shine in various fields both in national and global level on the 70th anniversary of its establishment. He praised the management of Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport for providing the platform for international management of FUM.
In the end, Dr. Bagheri Deputy Minister of Science and Technology also emphasized the importance of international relations of universities and appreciated the initiative of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in establishing International University Bureau at the airport. He considered the use of overseas specialists in universities as one of the factors contributing to the country's scientific progress. Dr. Bagheri introduced Ferdowsi University of Mashhad as a successful international university in attracting about 2000 international students and emphasized the importance of paying attention to quality improvement in the international field.
