Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Holds Graduate Course in Persian Language and Literature

Persian language and literature course was held for nine university professors from Afganestan at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.


At the opening ceremony, Professor Mohammad Jafar Yahaghi, director of the Center of Excellence in Ferdowsi and Shahname, pointed to the deep historical and cultural links between the Great Khorasan and the country of Afghanistan. He considered that these courses are very effective in intellectually and scientifically bringing together professors.


Dr. Abdollah Radmard, dean of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, also outlined the College's major programs, outlining its international programs. Professor Seyed Mahdi Zarghani, Director of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, also appreciated the management of international scientific collaborations and the affairs of non-Iranian students for organizing the course. He introduced the capacity of the Persian Literature Group to develop world-class knowledge courses and prepared the group for other collaborative collaborations. He announced the organization of conferences and the publication of joint papers with professors from Afghan universities.


In the end, Dr. Mohammad Javad Mahdavi responsible for the course referred to the teaching of Prof. Mohammad Jafar Yahaghi, Prof. Mahmood Fotoohi Rudmajani, Prof. Seyed Mahdi Zarghani, Prof. Reza Pishghadam, and Dr. Ali Izanloo for 4 weeks and 80 hours in this course. He mentioned that the main goal of the course is to familiarize the Afghan professors with the new literary and linguistic theories as well as the latest achievements in the field of Persian language and literature.


Professors of the University of Afghanistan, while appreciating FUM, expressed hope that this knowledge-based course would be the introduction of other collaborations between the universities of Afghanistan and FUM in the field of Persian language and literature.
