In the first meeting of the University Council in 2020, the brand of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad was unveiled.
Prof. Mohammad Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, thanked the Deputy Minister of Research and Technology and the Office of Technology Development and Transfer for maintaining the ownership of the university in partnership with foreign brands and said: "If the university's trademark is shared with a brand outside the university, One hundred percent confidence in the product must be achieved, and only with a global certificate is it possible to use the brand.”
Prof. Bahrami, Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, said that the registration of this brand will protect the name and logo of the university in the field of business, noting that the desire to use the brand of the university is increasing. This will also generate revenue for the university.
Prof. Mohabbat Mohebbi, a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, who is in charge of registering and trademarking the university, explained the steps for obtaining a stamp on food products and agricultural products, noting that the process of registering a university brand began in 2018, however, due to the complex legal nature of the university, it was registered in late 2019.
Dr. Malekzadeh, Director of the Office of Technology Development and Transfer, also pointed out that brand registration is the result of the university's 70-year performance, and that we aim to use this name for commercialization.
The university's trademark, which was registered last year, will include goods and services and international classification in four areas of agriculture, education, industry, and laboratory services.
The use of this brand in its intra-organizational function for commercialization of knowledge-based university products which have general and specific conditions for using the brand, and in the external function it will be in partnership with foreign brands that are both in accordance with the dignity and the level of the university.
Registration of the brand of the university in the Office of Registration of Trademarks and Internal Geographical Signs, in addition to maintaining the legal ownership of the brand, which will protect the right to pursue legal issues for the university, will help to maintain the university's position in registering knowledge-based products and services. In addition, the English translation of this emblem will be registered as the subtitle section of the trademark, making it possible to use internationally and sell products abroad under the name of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
It should be noted that the components of the trademark include the University logo, "Ferdowsi University of Mashhad" and the English University abbreviations of (FUM).
