Meeting of the President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad with the Iraqi Cultural Adviser in Iran

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Dr. Amjad Hamid Al-Muzaffar, Iraqi Cultural Adviser in Iran, along with his deputy, met with Prof. Mohammad Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Head of International Academic Relations of FUM, and Dr. Mohammad Taghavi, Head of the International Center for Teaching Persian Language to Non-Persian Speakers of FUM, and Dr. Zeinab Moazenzadeh, Head of the International Students Office of FUM.


In this meeting, Dr. Amjad thanked Ferdowsi University of Mashhad as the top university in Iran in the field of scientific and cultural cooperation in Iraq and called for maintaining and expanding the activities and cooperation of FUM with Iraqi universities. He also announced his readiness to hold joint courses and classes with Iraqi universities.


Prof. Kafi also pointed out that most Iraqi students study at FUM and our university's discourse is that FUM does not belong only to Iranian students and all neighboring countries are partners in it. One of the top priorities of the university's international programs in developing international scientific relations with Iraqi universities and scientific centers. He mentioned some of the university's programs including directing the subject of Iraqi students' doctoral dissertations to the needs of Iraq, connecting FUM with Iraqi universities in the field of joint postgraduate courses, sending professors to important Iraqi universities for a short period, admitting Iraqi university professors for sabbatical and postdoctoral opportunities.


Prof. Kafi stated that the issue of exams for non-Iranian students was raised at the university board meeting and steps will be taken to facilitate them.


At the end of the visit, the Iraqi Cultural Adviser visited some of the university's facilities, such as the Advanced Technology Center, gyms, and the House of Nations.
