Commencement of the master plan for developing technologies to improve subsurface imaging in the exploration of hydrocarbon resources in the Kopeh Dagh sedimentary basin at Ferdowsi University of Mash

The first phase of the master plan "Development of subsurface imaging improvement technologies in hydrocarbon resource exploration in the Kopeh Dagh sedimentary basin" to create technological capabilities in the oil and gas exploration sector and form an innovation network and business formation in the field of subsurface imaging technologies, has been defined as follows and successfully implemented under difficult sanctions conditions.

The technology development roadmap has been developed within the framework of the first package, and accordingly, the research projects of the second package have been defined in two phases and under the title of completing the database data by providing a program to conduct the necessary studies and experiments at three laboratory, semi-industrial and industrial scales. Currently, the first phase of the second package, including 6 projects, has been completed with 100% realization of the anticipated goals. In addition to the universities of Tehran (Institute of Geophysics and Institute of Petroleum), Amirkabir University of Technology, Zanjan Postgraduate Education, and Daqing Normal University, international companies and experts from Russia, Switzerland, Norway, and Mexico have participated in the research project with Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

In the continuation of the implementation of the second phase of the second package of the plan, five project titles with a credit of over 190 billion rials and 2 million and 800 thousand euros have been approved and announced. Considering the university's scientific, administrative capacities, and valuable infrastructure in the fields of reservoir exploration studies, geomechanical studies, and increased recovery, as well as the network of partners formed during the implementation of the plan, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad has announced its readiness to launch a Center for New Exploration Technologies.
