Dr. Omid Hamedani, a faculty member of the Department of Persian Language and Literature at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, last year in Sri Lanka, in addition to speaking about Hafez on the occasion of Hafez Day, had an interview with Milinda Moragoda, a politician and intellectual from that country and participated in his television program titled Black and White.
The subject of the program was the Sufism and poetry of Rumi and Hafez, as well as the importance of their intellectual and poetic heritage in the intercultural dialogue. The Moragoda’s television program has previously hosted people such as former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury. The show has aired twice on a Sri Lankan television channel.
