Prof. Abdul Rashid Iqbal, President of Kabul Polytechnic University (KPU), met with Prof. Mohammad Kafi, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) on July 13, 2021.
In this meeting, Prof. Kafi considered cooperation with universities in Afghanistan, especially public and prestigious universities, including KPU, as one of the priorities of FUM. He mentioned that universities in Afghanistan should communicate with universities in the region for growth in various fields of science and engineering, because universities such as FUM provide their knowledge and experience to them, and on the other hand, these universities face similar problems and phenomena. In this meeting, Prof. Kafi announced the readiness of FUM to hold various educational courses for the professors of KPU and also to provide facilities to the graduates of KPU to continue their studies at FUM. Prof. Kafi also expressed his hope that the recent problems in Afghanistan will end soon and that Afghanistan will be able to grow and prosper in various fields, including science and technology, in the shadow of peace and tranquility.
Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Director of International Academic and Scientific Relations and International Student Affairs, presented a report on the extensive cooperation between FUM and universities in Afghanistan. He described the education of more than a thousand students from Afghanistan at FUM as a good capacity for cooperation between the two universities. Dr. Ghabool called the process of signing agreements with public universities in Afghanistan an obstacle to expanding cooperation and expressed hope that the agreement between the two universities would be signed as soon as possible with the support of KPU.
Prof. Iqbal expressed his satisfaction with attending FUM, and named FUM as one of the top universities in Iran and the region, and praised the efforts of FUM for the growth of knowledge and Technology especially in the field of science and engineering in Afghanistan. He pointed out that the professors of the KPU, who are graduates of FUM, have a very high level of science and research, and willingly announced their readiness to sign the memorandum and expedite its implementation and benefit from the knowledge and experience of FUM.
