The opening ceremony of the 69th meeting of student deputies of universities across the country was attended by Prof. Zolfigol, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) on Thursday, May 12, 2021. In this ceremony which is started by paying tribute to the martyrs of FUM, Hojjatoleslam Rostami, Head of the Representation of the Supreme Leader in Universities, Dr. Dadashpour, Deputy Minister and Head of the Student Organization, and some other managers of the Ministry of Education and the Students' Organization were also present.

In this ceremony, Dr. Ahad Zabett, the President of FUM, first welcomed the student deputies of universities across the country to the holy city of Mashhad. In his speech, he emphasized the creation of a network for cultural issues between universities and the sharing of experiences to communicate closely with each other.

Afterward, Dr. Dadashpour, Deputy Minister and Head of the Student Organization of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, delivered a speech. In his speech, he referred to issues such as the structure of the student organization and the Seventh Development Plan. Dr. Dadashpour described the field of counseling and health as one of the key areas and added that now counseling centers act in the role of the family and their role should be shifted to prevention treatment. He stressed that counseling centers should refer to the student instead of referring to them and identify and treat any injuries.

Hojjatoleslam Rasmati, the head of the representative office of the Supreme Leader in universities, as the next speaker of this ceremony, considered universities and students as one of the most important areas of the country and the system. He considered the university environment as an environment with young people, students, science, culture, etc., and stated that this issue has led to the formation of many cultural activities in this environment.

He said that after political, military, economic, and security threats, the enemy has now taken a different form and targeted the Iranian identity, and by designing networks, it is breaking the norm and preparing spaces for inflammation, especially in the university space.

Prof. Zolfigol, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, also praised the efforts of university deputies. He asked the student deputies to follow up on the students' demands. He considered the demands of the students in the dignity of students and expressed his regret that due to the conditions that arrogance has created for the country, we have not been able to meet the demands of the students as they deserve.

He expressed his satisfaction with visiting two research and technology centers in FUM due to the great work being done in them. Referring to the Supreme Leader's decree in this year's slogan, he called it an opportunity for universities and science and technology parks and said universities should make the most of this opportunity. Prof. Zolfigol called the students the future makers of the country and called the student deputies the scholars of serving the children of the country.

The Minister of Science, Research and Technology called on the student deputies of the universities to serve the students with love because the more peace is provided for the students and their families, the more efficient the education of the students will be.

Prof. Zolfi Gol considered scientific diplomacy very important and stated that part of the relevant scientific diplomacy is study opportunities, international conferences, cooperation in publishing scientific articles, etc., but the most important thing is to attract international students, which should be taken seriously.

He further emphasized the importance of services to the martyrs and veterans students and considered it a duty.

The 69th meeting of student deputies across the country will be held on 22 and 23 May 2021 at FUM.
