Phlomis Iranica, a Newly Discovered Plant Species by the Botanists at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad ( Archive )







Phlomis iranica was first collected from the Northwestern Mountains of Salehabad (Torbat-e-Jam, Iran) by researchers of the Plant Sciences Research Center at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. After five years of extensive botanical studies, the researchers discovered that Phlomis iranica has been previously unknown and it is thus considered a new plant species.
This new species has been proudly introduced under the title ‘Iran’ in a research paper published by a well-known international journal (Turkish Journal of Botany). The full version of this article may be retrieved from the following address:
