Inauguration ceremony of the new branch of the International Center for Teaching Persian to Non-Persian Speakers at Al-Kut University College ( Archive )






The 12th branch of the International Center for Teaching Persian to Non-Persian Speakers affiliated with Ferdowsi University of Mashhad was opened on 22 February at Al-Kut University College by Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, the head of this center at FUM.

During the opening ceremony of this center which was attended by a large number of university and state officials, Dr. Ehsan Ghabool introduced Persian as ‘the language of science and knowledge’ and pointed to over 1500 foreign students as well as 500 language learners from 32 countries at Ferdowsi Center, FUM. Dr. Ghabool noted that developing academic and cultural relations with Iraqi universities is a major objective of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. He expressed high hopes that this center would be expanded across southern Iraq. 

Also, Dr. Taleb Al-Musawi, head of the board of trusties and the owner of Al-Kut University College, thanked Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and the president of this university for paying significant attention to the universities in southern Iraq and hoped that the opening of this center would result in the development of Persian in this border town. Dr. Al-Musawi also mentioned that Al-Kut University College is the best private university of Iraq according to QS world ranking system and said: “One of the major goals of Al-Kut University College is to develop its relations with the top universities in Iran”.

Following the inauguration ceremony of this center, an agreement was signed by Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, representative of the FUM president, and Dr. Zivin, the president of Al-Kut University College for expanding mutual academic and educational collaborations. Also, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad is committed to promote the academic level of faculty members at Al-Kut University College according to the agreed-upon terms and conditions.
