Promotion of Scientific and Cultural Cooperation between FUM and Lebanese Universities ( Archive )






During a visit to Lebanon by Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Head of International Academic Relations Department of FUM, at the invitation of Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, plans for improving scientific relationship between Lebanese universities and FUM were agreed upon by both parties.

During the meetings, Dr. Ghabool and Dr. Zeinab Saad, Head of International Cooperation of the Lebanese university agreed on the framework of the 2018 action plan between the two universities, including areas such Ph.D. student exchange in three sections of agriculture, basic sciences and humanities; establishment of joint Master’s degree program of Persian Language and Literature at the Lebanese University and joint publication of one of the two universities’ journal.

During the visit of the Head of International Academic Relations Department with Dr. Jean Akiki, Senior Vice-President at Holy Spirit University, the parties agreed on joint publication of one of two universities’ journals in the field of theology and offering scientific and welfare services to faculty members and Ph.D. students of the two universities for short-term research visits and publication of comparative articles on French language and literature, mysticism and religious commonalities. 

During a meeting with Dr. Hasan Yusuf, Head of Islamic Education Institute of Lebanon, Dr. Ghabool announced readiness of FUM for holding summer programs for pupils and teachers of the institute’s schools in the fields of science, mathematics, physics, Persian, French, and English languages; it was decided that the first group from this institute to be sent to FUM during the summer of next year.

Delivering a lecture titled “impact of Molavi’s thoughts on peaceful coexistence of foreign Persian language learners at FUM” at an a international conference on peaceful coexistence of religions and sects at Holy Spirit University, meeting faculty members from some French and Canadian universities, holding a workshop on “ development of lesson plan for teaching Persian to Non-Persian speakers” for Persian language teachers and professors, visiting Persian language classes at Al-Mahdi schools, participation at memorial ceremony of late professor of Persian language and literature of Lebanon, Prof. El-Kik, were among the schedule of Dr. Ehsan Ghabool during this visit.
