A joint cooperation agreement was signed between Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) and The University of Córdoba in Spain. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the President of FUM and the University of Córdoba in March 2021. This MoU previously was completed by Asma Entezari, PhD student in Food Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, who had interactions with professors of the Department of Food Industry of the University of Córdoba in 2020 for a sabbatical and accompanied by Technology Transfer Management Office of FUM and professors from the Department of Food Industry of the Faculty of Agriculture.
The University of Córdoba is a public university founded in 1962. The university, which focuses on research, has seven faculties and currently has 17,000 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, 9% of whom are international students. The University of Cordoba is ranked 801-1000 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and is ranked 151-200 among European universities. This university is also one of the universities approved by the Ministry of Science Research and Technology. It is worth mentioning that Cordoba University is one of the most prestigious and ancient universities in Europe, especially in the field of agricultural sciences. Also, it is important that Spain has extensive research on saffron.
Prof. Mohammad Kafi, President of FUM, reminded at the signing ceremony of this MoU that cooperation with top European universities is one of the priorities of FUM in 2021 according to the issues of interest of FUM and these universities.
Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Director of International Academic and Scientific Relations and International Student Affairs, also thanked Ms. Entezari for introducing the process of signing this MoU as a suitable model for the activities of doctoral students so that doctoral students can take the opportunity for having sabbatical with the top universities in Europe and the world and receive the necessary grants from these universities, and the international management of FUM is ready for any cooperation and correspondence in this regard with the top universities in the world.
