Students of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) were honored in the Young Architects Competition and won the Gold mention badge of this competition.
The culture station competition was held to redesign the master plan of the abandoned city of Elini on the Italian island of Sardinia and adapt the use of the city's buildings for economic regeneration, tourism, and architecture. In this competition, the projects of more than 300 international teams were judged by a 12-member jury consisting of prominent architects including Ricardo Bofill, David Telerman, and Marijn Schenk.
The FUM student team consists of undergraduate students of Saeed Ramezani, Mehrnaz Miri, Robdeh Hazrat, and Seyed Amir-Mehdi Fatemi and is supervised by Dr. Parsa Pahlavan, Assistant Professor of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, was among the five selected teams. The group was awarded the gold mention mark of the competition, a cash prize, and the honorary submission of the design by the competition to architecture magazines and international exhibitions.
