Joint Scholarship for Master of Physics for Afghanistan Students ( Archive )
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) in cooperation with the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) has organized a 2+1 year master's degree in physics. This scholarship is sponsored by Physics Without Borders (PWF) and is offered to Afghanistan students. Eligible people, especially women, are invited to register in this program.
Schedule:
The duration of the master's degree course will be 2+1 years, and it is necessary to be a full-time student during this period. The first three semesters of the program will be devoted to the required courses and related exams, after that students will work on their theses. After defending the thesis, students, like other master's students, will receive the relevant degree from FUM. It should be noted that the offered courses will be in line with the chosen topic for the students' theses. The deadline for submitting applications to participate in this program is January 5, 2022, and the start of the course is scheduled for the winter semester.
Accepted fields of study:
Each student will study one of the majors: "Astrophysics, Gravitation, and Cosmology", "Fundamental Particles and String Theory", or "Quantum Information".
Financial support:
According to the Memorandum of Understanding between FUM and ICTP, FUM eliminates the registration fee for those admitted to the "Physics without Borders" program and also undertakes to provide food and accommodation for admitted students at a very low cost. PWF students, like other students at the university, will also have access to an information center and central library, health center, gyms, etc. In addition, applicants can use the High-performance Computing (HPC) of the Faculty of Science to perform numerical calculations related to their thesis. The PWF Foundation will also cover the cost of living for students in Mashhad.

4. Two letters of recommendation
All the above documents must be submitted in English or Persian.
