Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

Dr. Talib Al Musawi, President of Al-Kut University College in Iraq, and Dr. Sheikh Salman, President of Imam Ja'afar Al-Sadiq University of Iraq, met with Dr. Ahad Zabett, President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

During the meeting, Dr. Ehsan Ghabool, Director of International Academic and Scientific Relations and International Student Affairs, presented a report on the history of international scientific cooperation with Al-Kut University College and made suggestions for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities in agriculture and Persian language fields. He also announced the university's readiness to sign the MoU and define executive contracts, especially in the fields of educational sciences and theology with Imam Ja'afar Al-Sadiq University.

Then, Dr. Talib Al Musawi, President of Al-Kut University College in Iraq, while introducing Al-Kut University College and its membership in scientific associations and unions in Arab countries and the world, called for the cooperation of FUM through these unions with universities in Arab countries. He considered the position of FUM in training the human resources of Al-Kut University College, including faculty members and staff, very prominent and stated that the graduates of FUM, who are teaching as faculty members in Al-Kut University College, have a special place in that university scientifically and research-wise.

He announced the readiness to establish a joint research center in the field of agriculture between FUM and Al-Kut University College, and in this center, educational, research, technology, and executive issues in the field of agriculture will be carried out. The president of Al-Kut University College also invited Dr. Zabett to visit Iraq and visit the university and the Al-Kut region.

After that, Dr. Sheikh Salman, the president of Imam Ja'afar Al-Sadiq University, while introducing this university, stated that about 45,000 students of this university are teaching in seven Iraqi provinces and it has 2500 faculty members. He praised the name and reputation of FUM among professors, students, and universities in Iraq and announced his readiness to sign the MoU with FUM and implement it in the plans proposed by Dr. Ghabool.

In this meeting, Dr. Zabett, while welcoming the guests from Iraq, stated the priority of international scientific cooperation of FUM, is the cooperation with Islamic countries and countries in the region, especially Iraq, and introduced religious, historical, and cultural ties as a factor in the development and deepens scientific relations between FUM and Iraqi universities, far from any partisanship or business view.

The President of FUM welcomed Dr. Al-Musawi's proposal to establish a joint research center in the field of agriculture and emphasized that he would introduce a working group in this field soon. While thanking the invitation of the President of Al-Kut University College and Imam Ja'afar Al-Sadiq University, he announced his readiness to visit these universities during his first foreign trip to Iraq.
