The invention of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad titled "Cytokine-based multi-epitope protein for binding to ccr7-positive cells" extracted from the post-doctoral project of Dr. Maria Bayhaghi under the guidance of Dr. Seyed Hassan Marashi, a faculty member of the biotechnology and plant breeding department on October 12 2023 was registered in the US Patent Office.

This invention is about the production of multi-epitope vaccine based on cytokine genes attached to CCR7 receptor, which have anti-tumor and prognostic properties of tumorigenesis, and by increasing CD8+ T cells, they detect and reduce the progress of viral diseases such as HIV and COVID-19.

Dr. Bayhaghi's invention has already won a gold medal in the second edition of the International Inventions and Innovations Competition for the members of the International Federation of Inventors IFIA, which was held virtually on August 10.
