The Minister of Science, Research and Technology, by issuing a decree, appointed Prof. Masoud Mirzaei Shahrabi, the head of Khorasan Razavi Science and Technology Park, as the president of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, while retaining his position.

Prof. Mohammad Ali Zulfigol, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, has emphasized in this appointment:

It is expected that by relying on the Almighty God and the help of Hazrat Saman al-Aima (a.s.) and by following Islamic teachings, scientific foundations, and Islamic revolutionary spirit, the basic strategies of the government and the programs presented to the Islamic Council and attracting the cooperation of professors, administrators, scientific assistants (staff) and students, all the material and spiritual facilities of the university, including the huge capacity of benefactors, are used for the realization of policies and programs of upstream documents, authority and scientific diplomacy, comprehensive development of science and technology, research-oriented education, education-oriented research, skill building, entrepreneurship, team working, and group culture building and finally for the implementation of all the axes of the Islamic University document.

The Minister of Science, Research and Technology also appreciated the services of Dr. Ahad Zabett, the former president of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, during his tenure as the president of this university.

Prof. Masoud Mirzaei Shahrabi is a professor of the Chemistry Department of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and the head of Khorasan Razavi Science and Technology Park. He has records such as being the country's exemplary professor in 2023, the country's outstanding mineral chemistry professor in 2023 by the Iranian Chemical Society, and the country's scientific leader in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 by the Federation of Scientific Leaders of Iran under the management of the Vice President for Science and Technology, placement in the list of the top one percent of highly cited scientists in the world in the years 2021 and 2023 based on the data published by the Clarivate Analytics citation database, member of the editorial board and the editors of the prestigious international magazine Polyhedron, among the Elsevier publications, and the holder of the Sarv Medal in 2023.
