Student from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Runner-up in the Great Virtual Iran University Chess Competition of Nowruz Cup ( Archive )
According to the National Federation of University Sports, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country and the closure of all competitions, the Great Online Chess Competition was held with the help of the Chess Association of the Federation and the General Department of Physical Education of the Student Organization with the presence of 402 students from universities of Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Health, the Islamic Azad Universities, Payam-e-Noor and the Comprehensive University of Applied Sciences.
In this competition, which was held for each player in the Blitz class with a time of 3 minutes, the students competed with each other for 90 minutes and the following results were obtained.
International Women's chess Grandmaster Vesal Hamedinia from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad came in second after Grandmaster Asghar Golizadeh from Tabriz University, and Amir Ali Ghafourian from Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University came in third.
