Bachelor's Program: The B.Sc. program offers 2 areas of specialization: Applied Chemistry and Pure Chemistry. The chief objective of the program is to train students who will function effectively at high schools as Chemistry teachers. There are 133 semester hours of credit offered at the B.Sc. level. Master's Program: There are 4 areas of specialization offered at the M.Sc. level: Organic Chem., Inorganic Chem., Analytical Chem., and Physical Chem. There are nearly 70 students studying at the M.Sc. level. Ph.D. Program: The Ph.D. in Chemistry is the final degree conferred upon students of Chemistry at FUM; it requires a vast array of academic and research activities. The ultimate aim of the academic activities is to fill the gap of the scientific knowledge of students in the field of Chemistry. These activities are completed through a "comprehensive exam." Students also get acquainted with various research methods. Research activities of students are completed after the completion of a Ph.D. thesis. The Dept. of Chemistry offers 4 areas of specialization, i.e. Organic Chem., Inorganic Chem., Physical Chem., and Analytical Chem. Approximately 45 students are studying at the Ph.D. level at this time.
