Department of Islamic Knowledge and Sciences

The Bachelor’s program of the Department of Islamic Knowledge and Sciences was established in 2004 to offering general courses in Islamic knowledge and sciences.

The Master’s program established in 2006 aims at training students for teaching courses in Islamic knowledge and sciences at universities and also institutions of higher education in Iran and other countries. This program also focuses on strengthening and improving the educational and scientific levels of the applicants to teach courses in Islamic knowledge and sciences. The graduates of this program can further their studies in Islamic knowledge and sciences. Graduates are also capable of serving as researchers at academic and research centers to perform research on Islamic thought and knowledge or on subjects related to the subjects of their studies.

Founded in 2006 at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, the doctoral program aims at preparing lecturer for teaching Islamic Knowledge and Sciences at institutions of higher education institutions in Iran and other countries. This department also aims at strengthening and improving the educational competences and scientific levels of the faculty members in universities in the departments of Islamic Knowledge and Sciences. The graduates of this program can participate in research activities of academic and research centers in the fields of religious thought and Islamic knowledge and in subject areas related to subjects offered in Islamic knowledge and sciences program. One of the objectives of the doctoral program of the Department of Islamic Knowledge and Science is promoting the rank of current faculty members who are lecturers now at Islamic Knowledge and Sciences departments of universities to Assistant Professor.
